In November, Namco Bandai released a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sequel to Pac-Man Championship Edition, the much-acclaimed reboot of the classic pellet-chomping title from 2007. Now, gamers will be able to check out the retooled Pac-Man formula on their PSPs as well, as Namco Bandai today confirmed that Pac-Man Championship Edition will arrive as a PSP mini through the PlayStation Store tomorrow, priced at $4.99.
Pac-Man Championship Edition largely maintains the traditional Pac-Man gameplay, which sees the iconic jaundiced glutton chomping Pac-Dots and Power Pellets while evading four ghosts through mazes. However, Championship Edition also saw the introduction of time limits, Pac-Dot multipliers, and dynamically shifting mazes.
Pac-Man is chomping at the PSP mini bit. Notably, the PSP mini version of the game differs from the just-released DX edition, in that it does not include ghost trains, bombs, or slowdown effects.
