OnLive has launched in the UK, offering its cloud-based gaming platform to British gamers for the first time. The company has also partnered with GameSpot UK, letting users play demos of such games as Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine and Dirt 3 directly from the site.

　　OnLive lets users play games on lower-end computers and the company's microconsole device by performing the bulk of processing on remote servers and live streaming the results over an Internet connection. The OnLive Game System, which includes the console and a wireless controller, retails for £70 in the UK, with GAME the first High Street store to sell the system.

　　Among the OnLive games available at launch in the UK are Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, and Homefront. Games can be purchased or rented individually. Warhammer 40K: Space Marine, for example, is £3.50 for three-day access, £5 for five days, or £35 to buy.

　　A subscription service offers access to a library of games, such as Borderlands and Batman: Arkham Asylum, for £7 a month. OnLive partner BT is giving its broadband customers a three-month subscription for free. Another promotional deal lets OnLive users pick up their first game for £1.
