The Ong-Bak movie franchise, which was established in 2003, is well known for its action sequences and its star Tony Jaa. Two years after Ong-Bak 3 came out, the license will now be adapted into video game form, courtesy of Thailand-based concept art and illustration production team Studio Hive. The company recently acquired its own video game production team.
The upcoming game will be out on multiple platforms in 2012, and it is being developed closely with license holder Sahamongkol Film International. Sahamongkol Film's business development director Akarapol Techaratanaprasert said that it is very selective with its licensing partners and found that Studio Hive has the right mindset in approaching the source material.
Five bucks says it's going to be a puzzle game. Studio Hive's video game-related contribution is doing illustrations for Square Enix's action title Front Mission Evolved.
