Ocarina of Time UE5 Project Receives New Version That Connects Kakariko to Deathmountain Trail and Goron City-October 2024
Oct 25, 2024 4:20 PM

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time UE5 project has received a new version that connects Kakariko Village to Deathmountain Trail and Goron City.

We've covered this ambitious project from digital artist 'CryZENx' on several occasions, and the artist has now released a new version of his project running in the latest version of Epic's game engine. The previous version of this fan remake allowed players to explore the game's first dungeon (the iconic Deku Tree), and this latest version allows players to explore Kakariko Village,  Deathmountain Trail, and the home of Gorons nearby Death Mountain - Goron City. We've included a video of the new playable demo below.

The latest version of this Ocarina of Time Fan Remake can be downloaded via the creator's Discord server. In the remake, players can fight various enemies, explore environments, collect items, and speak to NPCs. In addition, it offers an inventory system and includes some cut-scenes. It's an ambitious project, and since we likely won't ever be getting a proper PC version or remake, this will be your best bet to experience a remastered version of Ocarina of Time on PC.

Originally released in 1998 for the Nintendo 64, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is considered as one of the best videogames ever created, and one of the best (if not THE best) entries in the Zelda series. A remastered version for the Nintendo 3DS was released back in 2011.

"With phenomenally re-mastered graphics and new stunning 3D visuals, fans of the original game and newcomers alike will be able to marvel at this gaming classic to join the daring adventures of one of videogaming’s greatest heroes – Link!", the press release from 2011 reads.

"Guide Link – a young boy who is tasked with saving the land of Hyrule from Ganondorf, the Gerudo King of Thieves. The evil Ganondorf is intent on gaining mastery both over the land of Hyrule and time itself and he is led by his ambition to overthrow the current Royal Family of Hyrule. It is up to Link to stop him in his tracks as you guide him on a magical journey through time. Explore vast landscapes, mythical temples, dungeons, towns and villages, as well as

interact with many different characters and battle various enemies – all in stunning 3D."
