You'll get Watch Dogs 2 for free on PC if you buy a GeForce GTX 1080 or GTX 1070 graphics card (or a desktop/notebook with those cards) at select retailers and in select countries. That's because of NVIDIA and Ubisoft's partnership, which was discovered before the official announcement via a Dutch retailer and posted by VideoCardz; we'll update this story once there are more details regarding the beginning and end of this particular promotion.
This is hardly surprising, at any rate, since NVIDIA and Ubisoft offered similar promotions for all the major games published by Ubisoft in recent years.
Watch Dogs 2 on PC also features NVIDIA's TXAA anti-aliasing option alongside MSAA, SMAA and FXAA. The PC version, due on November 29th, is packed with graphics optimizations and options such as:
• 4K support
• Stuttering/lag framerate optimization – We employed a fix that makes all controls much more responsive and less framerate-related. We’ve optimized resource creation, GPU VRAM upload and required VRAM for the game.
• No FPS cap
• Full SLI/Crossfire support at launch
• Ultra Textures pack available at launch
• Multiple save file support – This feature allows players to have up to three auto save slots for three separate playthroughs.
• Multi-monitor support with borderless mode and advanced settings that allow for customized placement of menu and HUD.
• Multiple windowed mode options – Windowed mode with flexible/resizable windows, multi-monitor borderless.
The game is out on consoles but if you're waiting for the PC version, we've embedded the official minimum & recommend requirements below. We just received a Watch Dogs 2 review copy, so stay tuned for our official review of the game.
