Nintendo of America has announced the North American launch date for the Game Boy Advance. The 32-bit handheld will be released on June 11. According to NOA, the number of units that will be shipped for the North American launch has not been determined at this time. Nintendo recently announced that it plans to ship 1 million units for the March launch of the GBA in Japan.
On a related note, despite reports to the contrary, a Nintendo representative confirmed that the launch of the GameCube is still planned for October of this year. Recent reports have claimed that the console's launch had been pushed back to November. It will be released in Japan in July.
