Nintendo has slightly increased the shipment forecast for the Japanese launch of its Game Boy Advance handheld, company president Hiroshi Yamauchi told Reuters in an interview. Nintendo will now ship 1.1 million units on March 21, as opposed to the 1 million units originally planned. However, this slight increase in the shipment schedule should do little to alleviate the excess demand for the 32-bit handheld. There are currently nearly 3 million preorders for the GBA in Japan alone.
The North American launch is planned for June.
