Nintendo of America announced on Tuesday that it has created a new subsidiary called SiRAS.com to help reduce the returns of nondefective and past-warranty product. The company hopes to improve customer satisfaction with a patented electronic registration program.
"We're proud to introduce SiRAS to our retail partners as well as other manufacturers of consumer products," says Peter Junger, President of SiRAS.com. "The SiRAS system offers tremendous benefits for the retailer, the vendor, and the end-consumer. SiRAS.com makes Nintendo's nine years of returns-management research and development available industry wide and incorporates state-of-the-art technology. The result is more satisfied consumers and increased profits for retailers and vendors."
In addition to Nintendo of America, SiRAS' first announced clients include Philips/Magnavox and Sega of America. Retailers using the patented SiRAS system include Electronics Boutique, Wal-Mart, Target, Best Buy, Sears, Comp USA, Toys "R" Us, KayBee Toys, Babbage's, Fry Electronics, and Funcoland.
