With a European launch date for the DS already in the bag (for March 11), Nintendo has made its handheld available for preorder through its Stars Catalogue. A DS bundle is selling for 129.99 pounds or 189.99 euros (about $245) plus 1,000 stars. Nintendo Europe gives gamers a certain number of stars each time they register a new first-party Nintendo game at the site, and a smaller number each time they visit the site. The price nets buyers a Nintendo DS, a prerelease version of Super Mario 64 DS, demo versions of Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt and WarioWare Touched!, and an exclusive Nintendo DS T-shirt. Stars is offering 3,000 DS bundles, but by early today, nearly half had already been claimed.
