more screens (4) TOKYO--Nintendo announced today that it will release its DS handheld in four new colors in Japan. On March 24, the company will release Graphite Black and Pure White models of the DS. About a month later, on April 21, Nintendo will follow up with the release of Turquoise Blue and Candy Pink models. All four color models will be priced at 15,000 yen ($143), the same as the standard Platinum Silver DS.
This will be the second time that Nintendo has announced a new color for its DS in Japan. The company said in February that it will also release a blue model the same color as a Pepsi can as part of a tie-in promotion set to launch this month. No launch plans have been made outside Japan for any non-Platinum Silver DS.
