Yesterday, Nintendo Australia officially launched the 3DS handheld Down Under at a private media event in Sydney, where more than 100 people got their first taste of stereoscopic portable gaming. The publisher also took the opportunity to announce a A$349.95 price tag and a March 31 release date for the 3DS, as well as a national road show through five states showcasing some of the console's launch-day titles, which will include Nintendogs + Cats, Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition, Ridge Racer.

　　GameSpot AU was at the event on the night and took some behind-the-scenes photos.

　　All punters were in the running to win a 3DS with the aid of a special game card lanyard, presented each time they played.

　　There wasn't a whole lot of room to move as people tried to get sneak peeks of the console before the presentation.
