TOKYO--When the Xbox 360 launches in Japan, one of the most anticipated games for the console won't be immediately available. Ninety-Nine Nights, the new action game from legendary designer Tetsuya Mizuguchi, will not be ready by the time Microsoft's next-generation console goes on sale across the Pacific on December 10. (The 360 goes on sale in North America November 22.)
However, Japanese gamers eager to play Ninety-Nine Nights won't have to wait long. Retail sources now list the game as being available January 12, about one month after the 360 launch. It will cost 7,140 yen ($61), which is the standard price for current Xbox and PlayStation 2 games. No American release date for the game has been announced.
