  Rainbow Six Vegas infiltrates factory

  Initially anticipated to be part of the PlayStation 3's launch lineup, Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas was bumped to January 30 last November. Though that date came and went, Ubisoft sends word today the game's got its kit together and has finally gone gold and will be available on PS3s come June 26. Exclusive to the PS3 retail version of Ubisoft's modern-day tactical shooter are 10 multiplayer maps and two game modes, bringing its total maps to 20 and modes to 10. Rainbow Six Vegas is rated M for Mature and will retail for $59.99.

  EA Tiburon fantasizes football

  Football fans are anxiously counting down Madden 08's August release now have a new way to bide their time. EA Tiburon, developer of the Madden series, announced earlier this week a free fantasy football service for its faithful fans. The service allows users to create leagues, organize teams, and trade players. EA Tiburon developers who participate in rating players and creating playbooks for the Madden games will also be available to dispense advice. Interested armchair quarterbacks can head over to the league's Web site to sign up.

  World in Conflict CE brings down Berlin Wall

  Sierra Entertainment is pulling back all the stops for getting Massive's World in Conflict into gamers' hands. Two weeks ago, the publisher announced a handsome preorder package that namely includes a beta-invite key and a History Channel DVD. Today, the publisher has announced a collector's edition for the PC version of its civilization-ending action strategy hybrid. Aside from the standard assortment of extras, including behind-the-scenes footage, special packaging, and a bonus History Channel-produced DVD titled Modern Marvels: The Berlin Wall, packed in with the collector's edition will be an authentic piece of the Berlin Wall. Pricing information for the collector's edition isn't currently available.

  McDonalds sponsors Austin Powers on XBL

  Quietly appearing on Xbox Live this week was a free download of the Mike Myers-starring James Bond spoof Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. According to Videobussiness.com, Microsoft has partnered with McDonalds and New Line Cinema to bring the film to its online service in an effort to test the waters for advertisement-supported movies. The download will be available through June 28 and again from July 13 to July 19.
