The past few The New Mutants teasers offered more of a horror movie take on a young adult X-Men spin-off, but the film's new TV spot presents a tongue-in-cheek tone. Or to put it another way, if the past trailers were darker and sinister, then the new teaser feels more like a teen movie. That makes sense, since actress Anya Taylor-Joy, who plays Magik, stated that the director wanted to mix horror with a classic teen movie vibe, like The Breakfast Club or Sixteen Candles.

　　In the teaser, we see Magik and her very big glowing Soulsword. We also get a glimpse of the Demon Bear rampaging, which is one of the more unique villains in The New Mutants comics. The Demon Bear is huge and has incredible strength. In addition to its intimidating physical presences, it can also teleport, transform, feed off of negative human emotions, and manipulate souls around it.

　　The New Mutants was supposed to arrive in April 2018, but rumored reshoots supposedly held the movie back. Director Josh Boone clarified in an interview on March 9 that no reshoots had ever taken place. He said, "Everybody said we did reshoots! We've never done reshoots. And I'll tell you this: if there hadn't been a merger, I'm sure we would've done reshoots the same way every movie does pickups. We didn't even do that because by the time the merger was done and everything was settled, everybody's older."

　　Further delays caused by the Disney and Fox merger made it seem like the movie would never be released. But with multiple trailers, posters, and an in-theaters date, it's safe to say that The New Mutants movie is finished. You can check out everything GameSpot knows about The New Mutants movie.
