Michael Myers--aka The Shape--has been stalking and slashing across movies screens in the Halloween series for 40 years, and returns on October 9 in the latest entry. Halloween is a direct sequel to John Carpenter's original movie of the same name. Following this week's new trailer, a behind-the-scenes promo has been released.
The teaser features new footage, as well as interviews with some of the cast and crew. Star Jamie Lee Curtis, who is reprising her role as Laurie Strode from the first film, describes the film as "brutal," while director David Gordon Green explains show "anyone could be next" when Michael goes on his rampage. We've also got Carpenter stating that this is the best Halloween movie since the first. Check it out below:
Halloween is written by Green and comedian and actor Danny McBride (Eastbound and Down, Alien Covenant). The cast also includes Judy Greer (Ant-Man and the Wasp), Will Patton (The Good Wife, 24), and Nick Castle, who played Michael in the first movie. In addition, Carpenter is involved as a story advisor and has composed the movie's score.
In a recent interview with Collider, Green spoke about working with Carpenter, who is involved creatively for the first time since the second movie in 1981. "His advice was brilliant: make it relentless," he said. "He had notes, which is something I was extremely nervous about, we worked very hard on the script, we were all very excited.
"It's one thing for three movie nerds to geek out over the opportunity of manoeuvring within this property, another to basically go kiss the ring of the godfather and see how that goes. I was sweating bullets, the first time I sat down with him he had the script in hand."
