TOKYO - A shop owner on Sega's own BBS claims that Sega Muse - Sega's distribution company - revealed a new release date for Sega Rally 2. According to his posting, the new release date is January 28 - two weeks later than the previously scheduled release date. Another post on the BBS claims he received a phone call from the shop where he reserved Sega Rally 2, saying the release date would be, yep, January 28.
If the new release date is accurate, this move raises suspicions that the reason for delay is that Sega has had an uphill battle in securing its online network infrastructure.
Regardless, many Dreamcast owners are happy to see that this driving game appears to be close to showing up on retailers' shelves.
