The story of the Sully family will have to wait another year before continuing. But in the meantime, producer Jon Landau has shared a behind-the-scenes photo from Avatar 3, adding that "the team is hard at work and can't wait to bring audiences back to Pandora in December 2025."
Landau offered the glimpse at Avatar 3 on Twitter. The film, along with Avatar 4 and 5, was recently delayed from next year to December 19, 2025. Disney pushed back 4 and 5 even further, with those movies now premiering in 2029 and 2031, respectively.

Now this isn't the first time Landau has pulled back the curtain on the making of Avatar 3. Over two years ago, the producer shared a picture on Instagram of director James Cameron goofing around with actress Michelle Yeoh, who will be new to the franchise in the upcoming installment.
Cameron has also openly talked about the next installment, saying that Avatar 3 will introduce evil Na'vi known as Ash People. In addition, the director also revealed that Jake Sully won't be the narrator for the film. Instead, his son, Lo'ak (portrayed by Britain Dalton), will take up that mantle for Avatar 3.
It also seems like Cameron and company have shot a lot of Avatar 3 already. The director wanted to avoid what he called the "Stranger Things effect," so he filmed scenes for 3 and 4 during production of Avatar 2 with his younger cast members.
Avatar: The Way of Water released last year and made over $2 billion at the worldwide box office.
