Netflix's Cobra Kai Season 3 Finally Gets Its First Trailer-October 2024
Oct 22, 2024 3:24 PM

Originally debuting on YouTube Premium, Cobra Kai has found a new home. Seasons 1 and 2 are now both available to watch on Netflix as Season 3 is a month away from debuting on January 8, 2021. And the first trailer for the upcoming episodes has arrived.

Taking place in the present day world where the movie Karate Kid took place, the series follows former rivals Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence as they butt heads and train the next generation of karate kids. You may want to avoid the new trailer below if you're not caught up, as Season 2 left us with a huge cliffhanger.

There is a lot to unpack from that trailer. Luckily, the official synopsis gives us a good idea of where this is season is headed. "Season 3 finds everyone reeling in the aftermath of the violent high school brawl between their dojos, which has left Miguel in a precarious condition. While Daniel searches for answers in his past and Johnny seeks redemption, Kreese further manipulates his vulnerable students with his own vision of dominance. The soul of the Valley is at stake, and the fate of every student and sensei hangs in the balance."

Returning for Season 3 are Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni Decenzo, and Martin Kove. The next season will also take LaRusso back to Japan. "I have been to Okinawa, for some shooting of Cobra Kai season three, which I cannot talk too much about," Macchio said in an interview with Conan O'Brien. "But I can say it dives into the origin of Miyagi Do Karate. We learn a little bit, some secrets of past history that is new to the audience, and to LaRusso, my character, and we actually went to Okinawa to shoot."

Back in June, it was revealed Cobra Kai would not be returning to YouTube Premium, and a couple months later, Netflix picked up the show for a third season. The arrival of Seasons 1 and 2 on Netflix was a huge moment for the streaming service as it topped the Nielsen Top 10 streaming list the month of its debut.
