Namco Bandai has announced that it will be opening game development studios in Vancouver and Singapore later in June.
The house that bore Pac-Man is now expanding into Canada and Singapore. The Vancouver studio will be called Namco Bandai Studios Vancouver Inc., and will focus on developing social games. It will be located at the Centre for Digital Media at the Great Northern Way Campus. According to news from the British Columbia Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training website, Namco Bandai set up shop in the region because it was attracted by British Columbia's programs like the Major Investment Office hosting program and the Investment and Company Attraction Branch.
The Singapore studio, called Namco Bandai Studios Singapore Pte. Ltd., will be based at the Mediapolis that's located in the One North district. The studio will develop game content for the Asian region.
