MVP Baseball now batting PSPs-December 2024
Dec 13, 2024 5:39 PM

EA is playing small ball. The publisher today announced that MVP Baseball has shipped for the PlayStation Portable, Sony's portable gaming system that's smaller than a box of Cracker Jack. The game was developed by EA's studio to the north, EA Canada of Vancouver, British Columbia.

Originally scheduled for release near MLB's opening day, MVP Baseball has needed a little extra time in the bullpen warming up. The game has had a few release dates, moving from early April to early May, before finally hitting the big show today.

MVP Baseball for the PSP has many of the features found in the console versions. The pure-swing system gives adept command of the bat to gamers, letting them foul off balls while 0-2, as well as letting them swing for the fences with a count of 3-1. Gamers can also play home run showdown, jump into the season mode, and alternate players in the turn-based party play mode.

The PSP version will also feature a few options not in the landlocked versions. EA Pocket Trax, the on-the-go version of EA Trax, gives players a chance to rock out while sockin' 'em out. The PSP also supports head-to-head wireless play.

MVP Baseball is rated E for Everyone and has an MSRP of $49.99. For more information on the game, slide home into GameSpot's previous coverage.
