Ubi Soft puts gamers in the driving seat by asking them what they would do if they were in charge. Setting its sights on a higher level of overall realism, Monaco Grand Prix Racing Simulation 2 hopes to simulate everything about the automobile racing environment down to the stray dogs on the track...well, almost.
Racing in a full season pits would-be racers on 17 tracks, among eleven teams, and against 22 opponents. Controlling the environment gives gamers options from managing pit stops to adjusting aspects of their car during the race. For more lifelike racing action, new regulations have been added to put pressure on racers along with blue, yellow, and black flags, the 107 Percent Rule for qualifying, and a choice between brands of tires.
Other features in the game include force feedback, 3D audio support, real-time weathering effects, and lighting effects. PC multiplayer support will be available over links, network, or over Ubi Soft's free game service available on its web site.
A simple map editor will be included with the game as well so more creative gamers will be able to create new tracks and choose different settings like retro cars and sound effects.
The game will be released for the PC, Nintendo 64, and the Sony PlayStation during February 1999.
