Days after the closure of Stainless Steel Studios was reported, the developer's publishing partner has confirmed the studio's final project will indeed be released. The game in question is Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War, a real-time strategy PC title originally slated for release in October 2005. The game was pushed to spring 2006 before Stainless Steel went under "due to circumstances beyond Midway's control," according to the publisher.
"Midway remains focused and determined to deliver a revolutionary real-time strategy experience with Rise & Fall, and will look to stay true to the title's original development vision," the company said in a statement. "Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War remains scheduled for release in 2006. Midway appreciates the patience and support of Rise & Fall fans and will provide updates on the game's development and a more specific release date as soon as possible." Midway did not say exactly when Rise & Fall: Civilizations at War would be released or what developer would be finishing the game.
