Middle-earth: Shadow of War’s Ending Will Overcompensate for Its Predecessor
Middle-earth: Shadow of War’s Ending Will Overcompensate for Its Predecessor-October 2024
Oct 27, 2024 8:27 PM

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was viewed as one of the best games of 2014, an open world action game where the Nemesis system was the highlight. That said, the game wasn't without flaws; the ending, for instance, was singled out as one of the biggest flaws of Shadow of Mordor, a long way from offering a satisfying conclusion to the story. For this reason, the folks at Gamereactor have interviewed Monolith's Design Director Bob Roberts during E3 2017 about this and other Shadow of War topics, and the developer has said the following.

"We're really trying to make this [Shadow of War] like the conclusive feeling epic ending for these characters and this story that we only really got halfway through last time," Roberts said.

"We'll definitely wrap up Talion and Celebrimbor I think in a way that people will find very satisfying. We took that criticism from last time as well; the ending was a little lackluster, I think if anything, people will think we're overcompensating this time a bit," Roberts further stated.

One of the most anticipated games for this year is Middle-earth: Shadow of War, the sequel to the Monolith title of 2014 with a touch of the universe of Lord of the Rings.

The game is also being billed as one of the flagship titles of Microsoft's Xbox One X. During E3 2017, Bob Roberts told us that the console is "crazy powerful" and the game will run at native 4K and 30fps on it.

Microsoft has crafted a powerful and well-made machine - it makes no sense to deny that, no matter what you may think of Microsoft's exclusive line - and it will certainly be interesting to see how games and developers leverage everything it has to offer. The Xbox One X will launch on November 7; Middle-earth: Shadow of War, meanwhile, debuts on October 10 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
