Microsoft has confirmed that if you upload video clips via the Upload Studio on Xbox One featuring "excessive profanity," you run the possibility of having your account temporarily suspended. It is not clear how Microsoft defines "excessive profanity" or how long the suspensions will last.

　　The confirmation comes after various users reported they were subjected to 24-hour bans after their uploaded clips were deemed unsavory by Microsoft moderators. Some users even reported that they received bans for using profanity during private Skype calls. However, Microsoft reiterated that it does not listen in on private calls.

　　"To be clear, the Xbox Live Policy & Enforcement team does not monitor direct peer-to-peer communications like Skype chats and calls," a Microsoft representative told Polygon. "Also, we take Code of Conduct moderation via Upload Studio very seriously. We want a clean, safe, and fun environment for all users."

　　"Excessive profanity as well as other Code of Conduct violations will be enforced upon and result in suspension of some or all privileges on Xbox Live," the statement goes on. "We remain committed to preserving and promoting a safe, secure, and enjoyable experience for all of our Xbox Live members."

　　It is unclear how videos uploaded via the Upload Studio are moderated. However, as outlined in a November-dated Xbox One privacy document, Microsoft said it may monitor communication conducted via Kinect "to the extent permitted by law."
