Fans that picked up Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain collector's edition will be glad they did so, as the included blu-ray disc contains footage that reveals pivotal plot points to the story, GameSpot senior reviews editor Peter Brown has discovered.
Without spoiling the contents of the story, the episode is called Kingdom of the Flies and can be found on the blu-ray disc. It was intended to be episode number 51, and the story is told via half-finished cut scenes and storyboards. The footage is fully-voiced and features a host of story elements that tie Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain to other games further down the series' timeline. Specifically, Kingdom of the Flies gives insight into the motivations of Liquid Snake and Big Boss.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was released on September 1 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC. The game scored a ten out of ten in GameSpot's review and has garnered praise from a range of critics. Thinking of picking the game up?
