Medal of Honor studio hiring for 'unannounced AAA FPS'
Medal of Honor studio hiring for 'unannounced AAA FPS'-October 2024
Oct 27, 2024 8:32 AM

Though not a Call of Duty: Black Ops-level smash, the new Medal of Honor proved a solid hit for Electronic Arts, selling 2 million units in less than two months on the market. Now, it appears that Danger Close, the internal studio behind the realistic first-person shooter, is gearing up for another mission.

A Medal of Honor sequel may already be in the works.

According to a job listing on Gamasutra, Danger Close is "seeking a Lead Gameplay Engineer to work on an unannounced AAA first person shooter title. The title is early in development so this is an opportunity to be a key player on this major title." The description goes on to say that previous development experience on an Xbox 360 or PS3 game is required for the position.

Though EA had not commented on the matter as of press time, it is likely that the project in question is a sequel to the first Medal of Honor. Danger Close was formed as a substudio of EA Los Angeles specifically to focus on the single-player aspect of the reboot of the venerable shooter series. The multiplayer aspect of the game was handled by EA DICE in Sweden, developer of the Battlefield games, including the recent hit Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Medal of Honor shipped for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on October 12, 2010. The game's single-player mode featured a realistic portrayal of American forces fighting the Taliban during the early days of the still-ongoing Afghan War.
