Master blacksmith creates Halo Energy Sword, uses it to cut through cucumber-November 2024

Master blacksmith Tony Swatton, who has created various prop weapons for movie franchises like Pirates of the Caribbean and Batman, has forged a Halo Energy Sword as his latest creation.

Swatton, owner of Sword and The Stone, takes you through the process of creating the iconic Halo weapon in the latest episode of YouTube show Man At Arms (below). He says he's been inundated with fan requests to make the Energy Sword.

His Energy Sword is 2 inches wide and 39 inches long, and is made of steel. To get the appropriate blue/purple hue, Swatton heated the sword to a temperature of over 600°F. The handle is made of an ornate mother of pearl material, he said.

At the end of the video, designers are shown using the Halo Energy Sword to cut through glass, a copy of the original Halo game, a bottle of Mountain Dew, and a cucumber. If Microsoft ever does decide to make a Halo movie, they might want to call Swatton.

Swatton has previously created real-life weaponry from the Final Fantasy and God of War franchises.

The next Halo game, the currently untitled project from 343 Industries for Xbox One, launches later this year.
