Mass Effect Andromeda Patch Day-One Included In Early Access Build; Characters Animations Not Improved
Mass Effect Andromeda Patch Day-One Included In Early Access Build; Characters Animations Not Improved-October 2024
Oct 26, 2024 6:25 AM

The day-one Mass Effect Andromeda patch is already included in the early-access build of the game that was released yesterday for both Xbox One and PC.

Unfortunately, the day-one update doesn’t improve character and facial animations in the game. The game’s lead designer, Ian Frazier, confirmed as much on Twitter some hours ago after being asked about the update.

Hey folks, the live support team just confirmed for me: the day 1 patch IS included in the early access build on both Xbox and PC. pic.twitter.com/1OnlHV1osX

To be clear, there IS a day 1 patch. But I'm told that patch is already included in the early access builds.

Regarding the character animations in Andromeda, Frazier didn’t rule out the possibility that these will be improved later on, but just not at this point. “At day 1? No, that ship has sailed”, he said. “We'll have more patches later on, but exactly what goes into them is still in discussion.”

Those subscribed to EA’s subscribed gaming service, EA Access on Xbox One and Origin Access on PC, can try out the upcoming Mass Effect Andromeda for up to ten hours ahead of the game’s official release next week. Early access for the game went live yesterday and many players have been complaining about character and facial animations, which are said to make the characters look unnatural. Other players claim that Andromeda was rushed and doesn’t look like a game released in 2017.

While the facial animations in the game might be the best, the game still looks impressive overall. If you’re interested in the game’s official PC requirements, check out this post right here. Please note that these requirements appear steep at first, but both NVIDIA and Andromeda’s producer have confirmed that a GTX 1060 should be capable of reaching close to 60 FPS in 1080p on High settings. In addition, a GTX 1080 Ti should be able to play the game in 4k resolution at 60FPS on Ultra settings.

Mass Effect Andromeda releases globally next week on March 21 for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 (with PS4 Pro support).
