Heroic cards are powerful and can determine the fate of the combat, but they cost Heroism points and, therefore, cannot be used freely. As a result, gaining Heroism becomes crucial during each battle if you want to succeed without repeating the mission. But how can you do that? This guide contains all the information you need about Heroism and Heroic cards in Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
The Heroism level, displayed in the screen's lower right corner, indicates the amount of Heroism you currently have at your disposal. It is required to play Heroic cards and to perform environmental attacks. For both, the amount of Heroism the action will cost is always visible.
Heroic cards give you a chance to play the game’s most powerful cards and deal significant damage to enemies. You can easily recognize Heroic cards from their label, and their cost is always displayed near their name. If you don’t have enough Heroism, you will instantly notice it because you will see a red alert message on the card. When you use a Heroic card, it will cost you one Card Play.
Environmental attacks also cost Heroism but do not consume any Card Plays. In other words, these are free powerful attacks that will help you score knockouts and potentially target more than one enemy. When you see glowing environmental objects on the battleground, you can use them to attack nearby foes. The Heroic cost of the move is always displayed just above the selected item.
Make sure you play the right combination of Attack and Skill cards during combat to raise your Heroism level accordingly. If you get a Heroic card at the beginning of a match, you can redraw it since you won’t probably use it until later in the battle.
Don’t rely only on Heroic cards, despite being very powerful, because you need to increase the Heroism level accordingly and have the right balance between all the available cards. Otherwise, you won’t be able to use them when you need them the most, maybe against a boss or a horde of enemies. And remember to use elemental attacks as well. They are a great resource and will help you when you don’t have any more Card Plays left.
Finally, maintain a balance between Attack, Skill, and Heroic cards when upgrading your deck. The latter can’t work properly without the first two. And if you need more help with Marvel’s Midnight Suns, you can check our beginner’s guide.
