Last week, Nintendo officially confirmed that a Nintendo Switch port of Mario Kart 8, named Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, will be released this April in all regions. Before the official announcement of the port, rumors reported that the game would receive plenty of additional content, such as new tracks, characters, items and more. While the game will get most of these additions, it seems like there won't be new tracks, at least at launch.
During the Nintendo Switch Japanese presentation, it's been confirmed that the retail edition of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will include 48 tracks, which is the same number of tracks currently available for the Wii U release. This doesn't mean that the game won't be getting any, as they may be released as DLC after launch, but at launch, players will only be getting the revamped Battle Mode, new items, and characters.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will also come with improved resolution, with the game running at 1080p with the Switch docked.
Hit the road with the definitive version of Mario Kart 8 and play anytime, anywhere! Race your friends or battle them in a revised battle-mode on new and returning battle courses. Play locally in up to 4-player multiplayer in 1080p while playing in TV Mode. Every track from the Wii U version, including DLC, makes a glorious return. Plus, the inklings appear as all-new guest characters, along with returning favorites, such as King Boo, Dry Bones, and Bowser Jr.!
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe launches on Nintendo Switch on April 28th in all regions. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
