Madworld passes through Aussie censors
Madworld passes through Aussie censors-November 2024
Nov 13, 2024 1:00 AM

Hot on the heels of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars' Aussie classification, word has come down that another game tipped to feel the wrath of the Classification Board's ban hammer--Madworld--had passed through the rating process without a hitch, receiving an MA15+ classification.

When GameSpot AU contacted a local Sega rep to find out if anything had to be cut for Madworld to pass through the local censors, a spokesperson confirmed to us that Australia would be receiving the same build as the rest of the world. Internationally, the game has been classified 18+ by the BBFC in the UK, while an ESRB rating is still pending in North America.

Using a limited colour palate, Madworld portrays the ultrastylised story of a man called Jack who is fighting for his life in a death-sports TV show called Death Watch. Thanks to the inclusion of some really violent moves, including impaling an enemy's head onto a pole, Madworld was quick to gain notoriety.

Madworld is due out in March, so stay tuned for our review in the coming weeks.
