Electronic Arts announced its plans to release Madden NFL'99 in August. The game will feature the NFL license, meaning that instead of having generic teams as were in last year's title, it will have the actual teams and logos.
Improvements over last year's Madden 64 are said to be dramatic. The graphics will be running in hi-res mode, the same mode that Quarterback Club '98 used to give it staggeringly sharp graphics.
There will also be new animations, and defenders will now wrap their arms around players as they tackle them, and receivers will turn their heads to look at the ball as they run down the field.
EA is keeping quiet about new gameplay features, although a more realistic kicking game and new jukes are said to be included. Check videogames.com in the near future for a Madden NFL '99 preview.
