The Learning Company Inc. announced today that it acquired 100 percent of the equity interest in Creative Wonders L.L.C. from ABC Inc. (and its parent company Walt Disney) and Electronic Arts Inc. The deal was valued at about US$40,000,000 in cash and employee stock options.
Creative Wonders has published titles in the Sesame Street, Madeline, and School House Rock series. The Learning Company said that it expected Creative Wonders to continue operating as a separate division in its company.
