LCS retains viewers during the Super Bowl-October 2024

Could the LCS be growing even more than we thought? A nice graph from Nelson Minar shows that while viewership dropped slightly right after kickoff (and during the break between games), fans tuned back in after the first half hour.

One explanation for the data is that the Broncos looked abysmal (starting the game off with a safety), leading fans to head back to watch the LCS. Another possibility is the demographics for NFL and LCS fans don't overlap as much as people thought, meaning the big game wouldn't cut into the LCS that much.

The LCS numbers were still dwarfed, however, as the Super Bowl pulled in 111.5 million viewers overall. In comparison, last year's Season 3 World Championships pulled in 32 million unique viewers.
