Kuju Entertainment recently announced that it has established a Kuju Brighton studio through the acquisition of developer Wide Games. As a result of the deal, Kuju Entertainment has added the entire Wide Games core team to its payroll, and it has also acquired a number of unannounced assets.
"The Wide Games team is delighted to have joined Kuju," said Ed Daly, the cofounder and ex-Wide Games managing director set to become studio head of Kuju Brighton. "With the establishment of Kuju Brighton we can offer both staff and clients the benefits of a large company, with its established infrastructure, while maintaining the culture and focus of a smaller studio with an intimate working environment, ideal for fostering creativity."
"We have had great success following a strategy of establishing new studios built around existing experienced core teams," added Jonathan Newth, Kuju managing director. "We are very pleased to welcome the ex-Wide team on board to establish Kuju Brighton and form our fourth UK studio alongside the Sheffield, London and Godalming studios."
Kuju Brighton is currently working on what it describes as a "high-profile, soon-to-be-announced" PlayStation 2 title. We'll bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
