Kodiak Interactive has updated GameSpot on the status of its upcoming character-based platform game Goblin Quest. The developer, which is also working on Circus Maximus for the Microsoft Xbox and Sony PlayStation 2, is currently seeking a publisher for the game. As such, a specific platform has not been decided on at this time. According to a company representative, the game could be released on "any or all platforms."
The game features a varied cast of goblin characters, with such names as Faust, Gretta, Nogoodnick, and Pigfried. All these characters reside in the vast caverns that make up the goblin underworld. At one time, ancient goblin technology gave birth to the legendary Goblin Kingdom, which through the use of advanced technology became a collection of city-states that made the goblin underworld livable. However, following the demise of the Goblin Kingdom, a few shady characters got their hands on this sophisticated technology and have since been planning to use it for their own evil campaigns.
Goblin Quest is currently in the early stages of development and won't be released until the fall of next year. GameSpot will have more as further information becomes available.
