From Software's executive director, Toshio Shimada, recently commented that the company is planning development of the latest installment in the King's Field series for the Sony PlayStation2. While a PlayStation2 version of the game was hinted at quite some time ago, this is the first official confirmation from From Software.
The original King's Field was one of the first titles released for the current PlayStation. Two sequels were released in Japan, and were then later released in the US as well. The success From Software had with the King's Field series led the company to develop other titles such as Armored Core and Shadow Tower.
From Software's PlayStation2 title shown at the Tokyo Game Show, Eternal Ring, looked astounding with its detailed cave and water scenery. So here's hoping that we can expect similar, or even better, quality from King's Field Four. Stay tuned for more details.
