Just Dance Launches Anti-Bullying Campaign
Just Dance Launches Anti-Bullying Campaign-November 2024
Nov 1, 2024 11:27 AM

October is National Bullying Prevention Month and French video game publisher Ubisoft is doing its part by aligning its Just Dance franchise with the Stomp Out Bullying organization for a new campaign to help end bullying.

Through various efforts on social media and as part of real-world events, Just Dance and Stomp Out Bullying aim to hammer home the point that "it's OK to dance to your own beat!"

In addition, Just Dance 2015's Dance VIP feature will include a video that shows some of the Ubisoft development team dancing to a song while wearing Stomp Out Bullying's signature blue shirt.

"We know that teens are one of the groups most impacted by bullying and cyberbullying," Ubisoft brand partnerships director Carrie Bischke said in a statement. "As a game that has become a mainstay in both popular culture and with young people, Just Dance is uniquely positioned to get the word out about anti-bullying."

Stomp Out Bullying CEO Ross Ellis said in a statement that it is imperative that every effort be made to educate youth about bullying and the effects it can have on people. "Students need to understand that although we are different in the way we look, our sexual orientation, and race, that we must celebrate others' differences," he said.

Starting on Monday, October 6, a series of anti-bullying stories will be featured across Just Dance's Facebook and Twitter channels.

Just Dance 2015 launches October 21 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii, and Wii U. For more, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
