In the world of John Wick, The Continental Hotel is a neutral ground where assassins, even if feuding, can sit for a moment and take a break between missions. The New York establishment is run by a man named Winston, played by Ian McShane, who acts as a mentor to John in the last four movies, but now we get to see the early days of the hotel in a brand-new three-part mini-series directed and executive produced by Albert Hughes (Dead Presidents, The Book of Eli). Announced back in April of 2021, we finally have a quick look at the first teaser.
The specific details of the show are minimal at best with it focusing on Winston taking over the hotel and making it his own. In the teaser, we got a glimpse at past killers who have stayed at the hotel and a brief appearance of Colin Woodell at the end who plays the younger Winston. Check it out below.
Notably absent is Mel Gibson who signed on to the series back in October 2021, who plays a mysterious killer known as Cormac. You can briefly see Ayomide Adegun (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) as a younger Charon, played by Lance Reddick in the movies.
The Continental is the first spin-off from the world of John Wick with Ana de Armas' Ballerina movie hitting theaters next summer.
John Wick Chapter 4 is currently in theaters and has already grossed over $300 million worldwide.
The Continental mini-series premieres this September only on Peacock.
