Jesper Kyd scores Kane & Lynch
Jesper Kyd scores Kane & Lynch-October 2024
Oct 19, 2024 5:47 PM

IO Interactive's upcoming shooter Kane & Lynch: Dead Men follows a pair of dangerously homicidal and questionably sane death row convicts who are forced to recover a fortune by a sadistic band of mercenaries. Heavy, as they say. To get gamers in the mood to wantonly wreck brutal violence, IO has tapped its go-to producer and composer Jesper Kyd to lay the score for the game.

Kyd's soundtrack plays off the intense emotional and violent themes IO is hoping to inspire with Kane & Lynch. The score features a "mix of melodic and sublime atmospherics, explosive electronic beats intoxicated with musical distortion and strewn with hardcore industrial guitar sounds." Kyd's score will also incorporate "haunting vocals, heavily processed synth ambience, ethnic instrumentation and other multi-layered sounds."

Kyd is no stranger to IO's brand of indiscriminate, homicidal themes. The composer also laid the tracks for IO's Hitman franchise, as well as Freedom Fighters, which won GameSpot's Best Soundtrack of the Year Award in 2003. In addition to Kane & Lynch, Kyd will be contributing to a number of other highly anticipated games, including Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed and Sega's The Club.

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men is rated M for Mature and will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on November 20.
