LucasArts announced the upcoming release of a Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II add-on, featuring a new character (named Mara Jade, from Timothy Zahn's Star Wars novels), 29 new single- and multiplayer levels, and new weapons and force powers.
In Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith (set five years after the events of Dark Forces) Jade, former covert agent of the Galactic Empire, begins Jedi training under the tutelage of Kyle Katarn (from Dark Forces II) but quickly becomes enveloped in adventures of her own.
The game features 14 single-player levels, with 3D environments that range from the palace of lord Ka' Pa the Hutt to swamps to the subterranean catacombs of a Sith temple. Ten of the game's 15 multiplayer levels are set aside for deathmatches, while the remaining five are games of "kill the fool with the ysalamiri." Ysalamiri are salamander-like creatures capable of deterring the Force within a 10-meter radius.
Gamers will need a copy of Dark Forces II to play Mysteries of the Sith.
