While the last two movies in the Bourne series were not as well received as the three that preceded it, a TV show based on the franchise is happening. Production of a pilot for a spin-off show named Treadstone was first reported back in April, and it has now been announced that we'll be getting a first season.
As reported by Variety, the USA Network has ordered a full Treadstone series. The show will focus on the fictional covert black ops program Operation Treadstone, which is used by the CIA to turn agents into a merciless assassins with no memories of their former lives.

Now Playing: Jason Bourne Spin-Off TV Show Is Happening - GameSpot Universe News Update
Variety states that the first season will go into production in 2019 and will follow several of these agents across the world, as they are "awakened" and sent on deadly missions. In the movies, Matt Damon's Jason Bourne character was a member of this program who regained his memories and turned against the agency.
The Jason Bourne character first appeared in a series of novels written by Robert Ludlum. The success of the first adaptation, 2002's The Bourne Identity, led to two acclaimed sequels--The Bourne Supremacy (2004) and The Bourne Ultimatum (2007). Damon and director Paul Greengrass weren't involved in the next movie, The Bourne Legacy (2012), but returned for 2016's Jason Bourne.
