Yesterday, the official Japanese PlayStation.com web site was hacked into, and private information on some of the consumers who ordered through online stores was accessed. Although the hackers got names, addresses, and phone numbers of several consumers, no information on credit-card numbers was taken. PlayStation.com Japan has issued a press release, apologizing for any inconvenience this event has caused customers and reassuring them that the security system on the PlayStation web site has been reevaluated and improved to prevent this from happening again.
