Encore Software has announced that it has reached an agreement with Sony Pictures Consumer Products to develop games based on the Jackie Chan Adventures animated series for the Sony PlayStation 2 and the Microsoft Xbox. The game will include several of the characters from the television show, including Chan and his niece, Jade.
"The Jackie Chan Adventures video games will combine Jackie Chan's star power, amazing athleticism, and unique humor with a great cast of characters and compelling storylines," said Michael Bell, CEO and chairman of Encore Software. "These attributes, which make the Sony Pictures Family Entertainment animated series so popular, lend themselves perfectly to the gameplay and excitement of the next-generation systems.''
Sony Pictures Consumer Products' agreement with Encore Software is separate from the one it entered into with Activision, which gives the publisher of the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series the rights to develop games based on Jacky Chan Adventures for Nintendo platforms only. Activision has already announced a Game Boy Advance game based on the property.
