The Entertainment Software Association, organizers of the Electronic Entertainment Expo, has released the initial list of exhibitor's for this year's event. Some 92 companies large and small will be showing their wares at the event, ranging from the "Big 3"-- Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony--to smaller companies such as developer Behaviour (formerly A2M) and Telltale Games. The list also includes media outlets covering and exhibiting at the event, such as GameSpot. The number of exhibitors is not final and may increase as the event nears.
Sony is one of 92 companies that will be exhibiting at E3 2011.
The release of the list coincides with the opening of online registration for E3 2011. Qualifying members of the game industry can sign up for admittance, as can members of the media. Unlike in years past, media badges will not be mailed out, but rather picked up at the Los Angeles Convention Center. According to Gamasutra, the move was done in part to crack down on the scalping and forging of badges.
The exact attendance number of E3 2011 won't be known until the expo runs from June 7-9. However, the event has grown since switching back to a large-event format in 2009, when 41,000 developers, analysts, investors, journalists, and retailers turned out at the LACC. Last year, that number increased to 45,600 attendees from some 90 countries.
