Xicat Interactive has officially announced that it will release Iron Aces II: Birds of Prey for the North American PlayStation 2. The game, which was originally shown at this year's ECTS, is set in the World War II era. However, it features more than 35 airplanes from a variety of time periods. Iron Aces II is separated into a campaign mode and a mission mode. There are more than 35 missions in the game, and they feature both air-to-air and air-to-ground combat. A free battle mode lets players dogfight using aircraft from any era.

　　"We are extremely excited about launching Iron Aces II: Birds of Prey on to the PS2 format," said Steve Brown, director of European sales at Xicat Interactive. "This being our first title to launch on the PS2, we really feel it fills a hole in the market for this genre of product. We had tremendous success with our first Iron Aces title launched on the DC earlier this year and have pushed the title on to ensure that we utilize all the benefits of the PS2 platform."

　　Iron Aces II is being developed by Kodokawa Shoten and will be released on January 1, 2002, for the PlayStation 2.
