IOGEAR, a California-based hardware connectivity manufacturer, has announced the release of its own version of I-Link hardware for the Sony PlayStation 2. The Battle Hub will let up to six players link together multiple PS2s to take part in head-to-head competition. The peripheral is priced at $99 and is currently available through major catalog resellers, online resellers, and selected retail outlets.
"Half the fun of home gaming is being able to fight your friends in direct competition," said Kevin Luong, senior channel sales manager at IOGEAR. "IOGEAR's I-Link Battle Hub is just the tool for PlayStation 2 gamers who want to battle their buddies for the top position."
IOGEAR's I-Link hub supports games like Gran Tursimo 3: A-Spec. Sony has already released its own first-party I-Link for the PS2.
