Oct 22, 2024 5:51 PM

Hardware manufacturer, I/O Magic Corporation, has announced its latest sound card - the MagicWave PCI - powered by Aureal's Vortex audio processor with A3D technology.

The card is scheduled to be released this April for around US$69. The card will support PC '98, AC '97, DirectSound, DirectSound3D, and A3D, the MagicWave PCI offers the PC owners three-dimensional positioning with 64-voice wave-table synthesis.

"The advantage of the MagicWave PCI sound card is that it is positioned to support the latest features in Windows 98," said Tony Andrews, vice president of engineering for I/OMagic. "However, the MagicWave PCI works just as well with legacy audio in existing DOS games."

I/O Magic makes a variety of PC products including modems, sound cards, and video cards.
