Interact Accessories has announced a PlayStation 2 peripheral that lets players transfer their game saves from the PS2 memory card to PC hard drives. The Interact DexPort communicates with a computer via a USB connector and the DexPort software that comes packaged with the hardware. Users can plug the PS2 memory card into the DexPort and download saved data to the PC hard drive, and those saves can be e-mailed, posted on Web sites, and saved for future use.
"DexPort offers PS2 gamers some unique opportunities beyond storing and managing many game saves," said John Hays, director of GameShark product development for InterAct Accessories. "The ability to e-mail saves to friends, along with downloadable saves from GameShark.com, adds a level of interactivity which is currently unavailable for the PS2."
The DexPort is part of the company's GameShark line of products.
