April 1 - In a surprise announcement, id is giving up on the action genre and moving itself and its innovative game engines to support puzzle games. What? We were as shocked you. Many Quake and Quake II fan sites have shut down in a ceremonial death of the popular multiplayer games.

　　Why has id Software decided to move to the puzzle genre? Spokespersons for the company state that Quake II was more focused on puzzles, and the crew is taking a leap of faith because they really love puzzle games. One company employee stated that he couldn't lie any more to people after telling them that he was playing Quake II when in fact was playing Tetris.

　　So what about the new Trinity engine? Id said that it will continue the development of the engine as a blazingly fast puzzle engine capable of accessing every graphically effect known to man. One industry analyst for the puzzle genre said, "Bump-mapping in a puzzle title has never been done. We're glad that id has chosen to come and help innovate our exciting genre."

　　What will be id's first game? Rumors on the Web point to the release of a Quake Super Puzzler II Turbo game with a Bust A Move 4 game coming shortly thereafter, although there have been talks with Tetris' creator.

　　Reaction from gamers on the Web has been mixed. Many feel betrayed by id. Many Quake fans admit to never even owning a puzzle game in their entire lives, so they don't understand id's change of heart. Some closet puzzle fans admitted to noticing the move to a more puzzle-like atmosphere taking place when id launched Quake II. They see this move as a natural progression.
